Perfume Bottles Wholesale: Sizes, Shapes, Caps and Sprayers Explained
Share
The bottle is the first thing a customer touches, and for many fragrance brands it carries a large part of the product's value. Choosing one means deciding four things together: the size, the bottle shape, the cap, and the sprayer that fits the neck. This guide goes through each of them with examples from our range, and ends with a checklist for sampling before a bulk order.
Common perfume bottle sizes
- 1ml to 10ml – samples, discovery sets and travel sprays. Slim vials such as 1-10ml Clear Slim Glass Perfume Sample Spray Bottle with Black Sprayer (PF-0021) and 2-10ml Clear Slim Glass Perfume Sample Spray Bottle with Silver Sprayer (PF-0015) let customers try a scent before buying a full bottle.
- 30ml – an entry size that keeps the shelf price accessible and fits well in gift sets.
- 50ml – one of the most popular retail sizes for eau de parfum.
- 100ml – the full size, with the best value per millilitre for the customer.
Many brands sell one design in two or three sizes so the range looks consistent on a shelf. Styles made in several capacities include 10-100ml Clear Square Glass Perfume Bottle with Black Cap (PF-0011), 30/50/100ml Clear Cylinder Glass Perfume Bottle with Black Cap (PF-0013) and 30/50/100ml Amber Round-Shoulder Cylindrical Glass Perfume Bottle with Black Cap (PF-0003).
The quoted capacity is normally the nominal fill. The brimful capacity is a little higher, so confirm the fill height with your own filling method on the sample.
Bottle shapes
- Square and rectangular – stable on a shelf, easy to box and easy to print on. Examples: 30/50/100ml Clear Square Glass Perfume Bottle with Black Cap (PF-0023), 100ml Clear Square Glass Perfume Bottle with Gold Square Cap (PF-0014).
- Cylinder and round – simple and familiar, and good for wrap-around labels. Examples: PF-0013, 30/50/100ml Amber Cylinder Glass Perfume Bottle with Black Cap (SP-0019).
- Flat bottles – a large front face for a logo or label. Example: 10-100ml Pink Flat Rectangular Glass Perfume Bottle with Pink Crown Cap (PF-0001).
- Sculpted and textured glass – pear shapes and ribs catch the light and stand out without extra decoration. Examples: 30/50/100ml Clear Pear-Shaped Glass Perfume Bottle with White Ball Cap (PF-0005), 40ml Burgundy Ribbed Cylinder Glass Perfume Bottle with Burgundy Ribbed Cap (PF-0004), 100ml Green Gradient Ribbed Square Glass Perfume Bottle with Green Cap (PF-0010).
A heavy glass base feels luxurious in the hand, but it adds weight to every shipment. Decide which matters more for your price point before you sample.
Caps and collars
The cap sets the tone of the whole bottle. Simple black or white caps look clean and modern; metallic, two-tone and ball caps look more premium. Examples: 30/50/100ml Black Gradient Square Glass Perfume Bottle with Black and Gold Cap (PF-0019), 50ml Clear Cylinder Glass Perfume Bottle with Silver Ball Cap (PF-0017), PF-0001. A collar around the neck covers the sprayer fitting and adds a gold or silver accent, as on PF-0011.
Check that the cap sits firmly over the sprayer and does not fall off when the bottle is turned upside down.
Sprayers and neck finish
- Crimp sprayers are pressed onto the neck with a crimping tool. They are the usual choice for fine fragrance and give a neat, sealed finish. Many perfume bottles use a 15mm crimp neck, often called FEA 15.
- Screw sprayers can be closed by hand, which is convenient for small batches and refillable bottles.
The sprayer, the neck and the cap have to match exactly, so we confirm the neck finish and the sprayer on the sample. Spray bottles for body mists, hair mists and room sprays are in our fine mist spray bottles.
Decoration
Logos can be screen printed or hot stamped in gold or silver directly on the glass. The glass itself can be frosted, sprayed in a solid color or given a gradient, as on 100ml Teal Gradient Square Glass Perfume Bottle with Silver Cap (PF-0018) and PF-0019. Labels are a lower-cost option for small runs and seasonal editions. Every finish is confirmed on a sample before bulk production; see our decoration and customization options.
What to check before a bulk order
- Fill height and capacity with your own fragrance.
- Spray test – spray pattern, dose per spray and how many presses it takes to prime.
- Leak test – store filled samples upside down and on their side for a few days.
- Alcohol compatibility – check the sprayer seal and any decoration with your actual fragrance.
- Cap fit over the sprayer.
- Box and insert size for the finished bottle with its cap.
